A ‘flash feast’ happened on Millennium Bridge on August 3rd over the Liffey in Dublin to mark the launch of the Street Feast, a nationwide day to celebrate community on 28 August.
Over 70 people dined at the flash feast, as trestle tables, bunting and a colourful spread of delicious food suddenly appeared at 1pm, offering lucky passers-by the chance to dine in style. The exact location for the flash feast was only revealed via text, twitter and facebook an hour beforehand.
"Street Feast is all about celebrating your street, area or community. It is also about helping to forge stronger links between local food suppliers, business and neighbourhoods,” said Clare Mulvany, one of the co-ordinators of this year’s Street Feast campaign.
