The practice has been selected to participate in the "Slow Architecture and Place" exhibition. This canal-boat based exhibition looks at the themes of;
- Rediscovering the joy of making and building
- Observing more closely the patterns and rhythms of a place
- Investigating issues around inhabitation and sense of community
The aim of the exhibition is not only to engage with architects but also with the wider public and thus the proposal is to exhibit the selected schemes within a specifically converted barge travelling slowly on the Grand Canal via various moorings including Belmont Mill and Tullamore and finishing in Dublin.
Our exhibit investigates the design process through the ecology of materials and the interaction with the community, based on the Rediscovery Centre project for Ballymun Regeneration
As part of the exhibition events, Seán Harrington will give a talk at 6pm on 14 October at the canal basin in Naas.
