DIT Rathmines

Client; Dublin Institute of Technology.
Completed September 2004

This project consists of internal alterations, repairs and upgrading for fire safety and acoustics to a protected structure that is the Conservatory’s primary teaching facility.  The client wished to consolidate all of its teaching accommodation from three different sites into this one facility.  Additional teaching rooms were created by dividing existing rooms to ground and first floor and by creating new rooms in the attic space.

An initial feasibility study of how the building could be adapted to suit the clients needs within a given budget led to a detailed Planning Application and Fire Certificate Application which were both granted.  Following tender reductions, work proceeded on site and was completed over Summer 2004 to an exceptionally tight programme.
